Hi all,
It's been a long time since we've had to organise a lot of group activities. It seems that the days where everyone was on ICQ all the time are long gone, so my question is...
What are you all on nowadays, and what would you prefer to use for event coordination? Personally, I favour Steam or IRC, but I'm also reachable on ICQ, Skype and google chat.
Let me know!

I was running Facebook, ICQ, and Steam all at once last night, and it was really impacting the performance of my machine. If we could pick a single method (I'm up for any of them), that would help immensely.

Well, seeing as Steam was set up for short gaming communications it probably seems the best candidate, as I have it on all the time anyway. IRC is also a possibility to keep everyone connected, although it's really a bit archaic now.

I am happy using steam, since its a good way to also get hold of people whilst they playing other games to see if they interested in a event coming up etc.
I still got my old icq from 11 years ago... but rather not use it.

I've also noticed that there're a lot of functions built into the Steam Group we've set up (The Midnight Watch) that could prove useful. All in all, I think Steam is the best bet here.

Only thing is I have no idea who anyone is on steam. We should compile a list.

People could also change their steamIDs to something more recognizable.

If people don't want to change their Steam ID, you can right click a person on your friends list and select 'Add Nickname' to tag them with something you'll remember.

I nickname people by numbers in their usefulness... I live a odd life.

There was always an ingame chat that was never used much on production shards, we could have that for event days? Well atleast for ingame contact heh.
